| バイオ>> ミシシッピーで生まれたウィリー・ベスト（ウィリアム・ベスト）は、ドサ回りの劇団に入っていた。 1930年頃から映画に出演するようになった。映画会社側は、ベストのステレオタイプを助長した演技を「本人は楽しんでいる」とプレスなどに書いたが、本人は「ただ食べ物と暖かい寝床が欲しかった」と述べたとの事だ。「Little Miss Maker」では、シャーリー・テンプルと共演し、「The Ghost Breakers」では、ボブ・ホープと共演した。そのホープは後に「最高の俳優」と彼を称した。「ちびっこギャング」等で知られる有名なプロデューサー、ハル・ローチのTV番組などに出演した。1962年に、49歳の若さでガンでこの世を去った。他界するまでに彼が出演した作品数は100を超える。 |
