才女でハンプトン大学を卒業後に国家安全保障局なんていう国家の堅苦しい仕事を5年間もしていた。でもその仕事に飽き飽きしたサイクスはスタンダップコメディの道に進んで、多くのスターを輩出している（セドリック・ジ・エンターテイナーとかもそうだったと思う）クアーズ主催のタレントショーで優勝。コメディクラブ時代にクリス・ロック一派と仲良くなり、「クリス・ロック・ショー」でライターやレギュラーとして活躍。この番組では唯一の女性レギュラーという事もあって、コントなどでの活躍の場も多かった。そしてロック一派で作った「Pootie Tang / プーティ・タン (2001)」でも個性的なビギー・ショーティを演じていた。その後に他の番組等にも呼ばれるようになって、今は大活躍。自身の冠トークショーまで持つ程に。プライベートでは2008年頃に同性愛者である事を発表して、様々な活動も活発的にしている。
